The 3 Kumaris of three different cities of Nepal:
Indra jatra is one of the great festival for Nepalese.where three chariot s of Kumari ,Bhirab and Ganesh were pulled and others like lakhe dance white elephant dance (Pulu Kisi) , Mahankal dance ,and many more .More importance is given is Kumari –a living goddess of Nepal.Generally god and goddess aren’t live but kumari one and only living goddess which has been worshiped till todays date also. Kumari can be only form shakya and barjacharya family, this many may not knew.After one turned into Kumari , even her family couldn’t call her by her name.
Many might know there is kumari in Kathmandu only,but there are other two places where there is kumara i.e Latitpur and Bhaktapur.
The Latest Kumari of Kathmandu is form EtumBahal ,she is 4 years old ,her name is Matina Shakya .Kumari of Lalitpur is form Ga Bahal and she is 14 yrs old , her name is Chanira Bajracharya.And last one kumari form Bhaktapur ,she is 8 years old ,her name is Shreeya Bajracharya.
Though they three of them are kumari, but have their different life style and duties.
Kathmandu of Kumari, She lives in Kumari Ghar behind Hanuman Dhoka .Her teacher comes to kumari Ghar to teach her .She cannot go home during this time, whereas kumari of Lalitpur ,she live with her family except in the special occasions .Due to lack of space in the Kumari Ghar she doesn’t live there but she visit once a day for ritual worship there. she doesn’t go to school for study, but her teacher come to her house instead .And the Kuamri of Bhaktapur ,she has more freedom in compare to other two,she live in her house with her family,she can also visit to her ralatives and neighbors, in dashai she have to stay and eat in Kumari Ghar .She goes to school too.
